Due to unsafe conditions inside the Trinity River levees following the recent rain, the 10K will complete two loops of the 5K course, which is entirely on surface streets. The Half Marathon has been changed to a 20K and will complete four loops of the 5K course.
For the safety of our runners and walkers, we must make a change to the 10K and Half Marathon courses. Although we expect great weather on Saturday, the current conditions inside the levees are not safe and more rain is expected this week, which will only worsen the conditions.
The 10K will complete two loops of the 5K route as shown at http://www.runthetrinity.com/. The Half Marathon will be reduced by 1.1 kilometers to make it a 20K. The 20K course will complete four loops of the 5K route.
The volunteer committee that works throughout the year to put on this event takes pride in being part of one of the best running events in Dallas. We regret the need to make this change. However, after reviewing the course and levee conditions with City leaders, there is no other choice.
