Inline Skate Instructions

Event Info
The inaugural Trinity River Levee Skate is an untimed tour (not a race!) that includes the Trinity Skyline Trail with a a rare opportunity to skate across the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge!

The course is beautiful but maybe might not be as pristine as you would have during a race. Please note the following.

1. Start:
We are starting on trail under Continenal Ave. Pedestrian bridge. The trail is downhill from parking and there is turn at bottom. If you have brakes, this is no issue. Just control your speed the way down. If you are taking your speed skates and no brakes (like mine) Plan on some old wheels you don't mind scrubbing downhill. If you're uncomfortable with this, just hop on Chris Mackowski's back and he will walk you down :)

2. Approx 1.5 mile: Trinity Trail under Sylvan Bridge:
At corner for a few feet there is only narrow section of concrete. Please slow down and go single file.

3. Just past 4 mile: transition from Trail to Commerce Street
There is approx 50 ft unpaved, there is uphill section just before so maintain slow pace and you can walk it out on your skates.

4. Commerce is downhill with right turn to Riverfront. Plenty of room to control your speed and roll out through Riverfront

5. Approx 5.5 mile: On ramp to Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is uphill climb. measuring at 600 ft long and climbs 16 feet which is 2.7% grade.
